Tech and Dress Rehearsals

Check-In

  • Sign in upon arrival for each Tech, Dress Rehearsal and performance. There will be a sign in sheet at each Dressing Room door. A parent will start calling cast members who are not there by the scheduled Call time.

Dressing Rooms

  • The Boy’s Dressing Room will be  TBD
  • The Girls Dressing Room will be M-2
  • No food is allowed in the Dressing Rooms, only bottled water
  • Dressing Rooms must be cleaned up after each show because classes are in there the next day.

Eating

  • Eat dinner before you come to Tech and Dress Rehearsals and the performances.
  • Bring a water bottle, no soda, juice or food is allowed.
  • No eating while in costume.
  • No gum allowed anywhere, anytime.

Props

  • Do not touch any props if you are not using them for a scene!  Props have been borrowed from various Theater Companies and belong to people gracious enough to lend them to us. No one should touch a prop except for the actor who uses it on stage.
  • Costumes
    • Come to the theatre with your hair and make-up done. There will be parents at the theatre to assist you with make-up touch ups or if your character has special make-up requirements.
    • Bring a laundry basket or covered box with your name on it to keep your street clothes and other belongs in.  Take this basket/box home after each performance.
    • Costumes will remain at RHMS – do not leave the theatre dressed in your costume they must remain at school. 
    • Hang up your costume on the clothing rack in the Dressing Room after each costume change and at the end of each performance. Be careful with the costumes, they are rented and you will be responsible for any damage.
    • IMMEDIATELY after the last show all costumes need to be turned in to the Costume Chairperson. Do not ever leave the theatre with your costume.

    Makeup

    • Keep your make-up in a case with your name on it.  Do not use anyone else’s make-up.
    • Take your make up off at home after the show.
    • Make sure ALL items are marked with your first and last name. You may want to put individual items in a zip-lock baggie and mark your name on it.

    Security

    • Respect other cast member’s belongings. Do not borrow anything without permission.
    • Leave all valuables at home – no cell phones or pagers.
    • Parents, siblings and friends are not allowed backstage unless they are signed up to work.

    Respect of Fellow Cast Members

    • Keep all body parts to your self.
    • Keep quiet in the Dressing Rooms.  They are near the stage and all noise will travel to the stage.
    • Stay in the dressing rooms unless your cue to go on stage is coming up.
    • Listen for your cues from the Backstage Supervision parents.

    Miscellaneous

    • You may want to bring the following items to keep yourself busy during off-stage time
      • Cards
      • Books
      • Homework
      • Games
      • Puzzle
      • No markers please

    For emergencies, you may want to bring

    • Thread
    • Needle
    • Safety pins
    • Small amount of money for telephone, water
